He defeated 3yr old champion Summer Bird in the Arkansas Derby and was a very troubled 4th in the Kentucky Derby. His female family speaks of three generations of top Graded stakes horses and the Hirsch family breeding program. His dam, Miss Houdini, was a Grade 1 winner in her 2nd start, the Del Mar Debutant. Papa Clem's 2nd dam, the brilliantly fast Magical Maiden, was also a Grade 1 stakes winner at two in the Hollywood Starlet.
